Silly Stories, Strong Memory

Subtitle
In a teacher training workshop, Ms. Laura Green explained why she always used funny short stories in her English classes. She said that when students hear words inside a dramatic or silly story, they remember them more easily. Ms. Green often asked many easy questions while retelling the story. These questions seemed repetitive, but they made students hear the same words again and again — helping them remember. She explained that when learners visualize the story and quickly answer questions, their brains stay active. With enough repetition, the new words become natural. At the end of class, she asked students to retell the story aloud using the new vocabulary. Her goal was simple: don’t just learn words on the surface — learn them deeply so you can really use them in real conversations.
